Climate Changemakers Warriors Mentoring Programme
As part of work package 4, Climate Changemakers Warriors Mentoring Programme, three schools in Sweden, Turkey and Portugal implemented the mini mentor program camp with purpose empower children as ecological agents, fostering collaboration through mentoring relationships between older students (10-12 years) and their younger peers (8-9 years). The Mini Mentors Camp is an important pillar of the All Aboard project, promoting a participative approach towards the development of a green changemakers community.
The mini mentors programme was successfully implemented in three schools during December 2023, Ebba Brahe school, Ahmet Baldoktu Ilkokulu and Escolas de Loureiro. Each school had to launch the program through sharing information either by teachers in their classes or through posters in schools. Teachers motivated children between 8-12 years to apply to be mentors by introducing the project All Aboard: Creating a community of green changemakers during childhood and explained what being a mentor requires and that each school need to implement 7 activities/mini project with help of mentors and their peers (Climate Changemakers Warriors into action).
Children interested in being mentors were asked to write invitation letter of why they should be mentors and the teachers selected eight mentors based on motivation letters. 24 mentors were selected in all three schools and the teachers will introduce the MAF (the Methodological Approach Framework) and the Gamebox for the mentors before implementing the 7 activities/mini projects (Climate changemakers warriors into action) that will be selected with help of mentors. These activities/mini projects will be implemented during 2024 and involve a total of 240 children.
We are looking forward to implementing the Climate changemakers warriors into action.
